Peace over troubled waters

Greetings in Jesus Name. His Name is above all others. I hear Him speaking Peace to us in these days. In John 14:27 ” Peace I leave with you: my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
If God is sovereign, and I believe He is, then He is in control. And I can rest in Him. We do not need to be afraid about what the government is doing.
When we have opportunity to have our say as citizens I believe we should speak up. When we have opportunity we should fight evil in all its forms. But we do this with confidence and not fear. Jesus walked through this hostile world in peace and so can we. May we trust Him to help us do so.

The Power of the Positive

Our environment is made up of attitudes and attitudes can be either positive or negative. Both of them are very powerful. Positive attitudes can encourage. Negative attitudes will discourage. Positive attitudes can bring hope. Negative attitudes bring despair. Positive attitudes can heal. Negative attitudes cause illness and disease. Everyone likes positive attitudes and no one likes a negative attitude. Positive attitudes cause people to work smoothly together. Negative attitudes bring critical comments and chaos. In Philippians 4:8 we are told to think positively. “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy— think about such things.”
I trust a word to the wise is sufficient.

Peace in troubled times

I am remainded of the statement Jesus made in John 14 ; 27 ” Peace I leave with you. Not as the world gieveth give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled niether let it be afraid.” He said this to the disciples who lived under a cruel government.
I believe that God is soveriegn. He has all things under His control. We may rest with that.
He has promised to supply all of our needs acording to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
So dear ones, let us be confident in the care of God. And may we walk before Him in Peace.

Hope

I would speak to you of Hope that great anchor of the soul. I believe that we have hope because Jesus rose from the grave and in so doing conquored death and sin and destroyed their power over the souls of men. I believe that it is in the power of that resurrection that we have power to overcome sin in our own lives. We can really put sin behind us and leap forward to do the work God has for us to do. So accept by faith this wonderful resourse and walk before our Lord in confidence.

Encouragement

I can’t believe that it is almost the 1st of April. As I laid on my bed this morning I was led to the need of encouragement. Many are struggling with difficult things and we need to reach out and help each other.

May I suggest that we all consider who we are in God. We have been specially made to do the will of God. And we can be confident that it is what we are doing.  God loves us as we are.  And He is good all the time. He will never leave us or forsake us.

May I also ask you to look around and witness the miracle of spring. The white we have had so long is changing to green. Plants that have hidden all winter are bursting forth and covering the land. Birds  are coming back. The geese are flying and honking.

But to do this we must slow down and take the time to notice.  Find a sunny place out of the wind and rest. And then breakout with cries of thanksgiving!
